Fans urged to return to Air Force track meets, but Current Department of Defense and Air Force Academy rules require all individuals to wear a mask while inside Academy facilities. All people who have not been fully vaccinated must also wear masks outside on military installations.

AIR FORCE AT THE NATIONAL RANKING
A pair of Falcons are ranked in the nation’s top 30 in this week’s TFRRS rankings, with Sam Gilman holding a pair of top-25 placements. Gilman is ranked ninth in the 5,000 meters standings (13:25.17) and 22nd in the 3,000 meters (7:47.93), while Wyatt Murphy is ranked 28th in the heptathlon with a total of 5442 points.
TEAM GOALS
With a combined clearance of 27’0″, the high jump quartet of Collin Schulz, Jacques Hall, Philip Hundl and Jalan Rivers is ranked eighth in the USTFCCCA #EventSquad rankings – which is determined by the season’s best cumulative scores of a team’s top four athletes on the national roster in descending order. The Air Force has three other squads listed in the Top 20, including the 5,000 meter race (No. 11 – Sam Gilman, Will Kitzhaber, ryan johnson, Ethan Marshall: 55:28.61), 3000 meter race (n°12 – Gilman, Luc Combes, Ryan Ioanidis, Eli Bennett: 31:44.51) and pole vault (n°18 – Caiden Macktinger, Ethan Gardner, Robert Postelle, Ryan Brown – 65’2¾”).
FUTURE
The indoor championship season begins next week, when the Falcons travel to Albuquerque, NM, for the 2022 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships. The three-day competition, which begins Thursday, February 23 and ends Saturday February 25, will be held at the ABQ Convention Center.
