WEST BANGKA – Herman, a resident of Dusung Pangkalan Ahoi Hamlet 1 Belo Laut, Muntok, West Bangka Regency did not expect his house to be rebuilt by PT Timah Tbk on Monday (8/8/2022),
Herman’s house is known to have suffered various damages, such as the wood being already brittle, and the thatched roof also damaged. Someone who works as a fisherman with an uncertain income cannot do much to repair his house.
PT Timah Tbk collaborated with Kodim 0431 West Bangka to complete the construction of habitable accommodation (RTLH) for Herman and his family. A total of 20 Indonesian military personnel and PT Timah Tbk employees were directly involved in the demolition of Herman’s house on Monday (8/8/2022).
“Alhamdulillah, we are very happy, we did not expect to receive housing assistance from PT Timah,” Herman said.
Herman said all home help processes were assisted by Babinsa who served in their village and was also assisted by the village government. At first, he didn’t think he would get help.
“We did not ask for help in the form of proposals, all were assisted by Babinsa (TNI) members and village government officials, who submitted them to PT Timah. We thank God, PT Timah , the Indonesian army, the village government for getting this fortune,” Herman said.
Meanwhile, Lt Col Dandim 0431 West Bangka Inf Deri Indrawan said his party is in synergy with PT Timah Tbk to help those in need. He hopes that the construction of habitable houses for these residents can continue.
“It is a form of concern for TNI AD, in this case Kodim 0431/West Bangka to be able to help the difficulties of the community, and the benefits can be immediately felt. In this activity, we are collaborating with PT Timah Tbk to power to work together/synergize to complete this home renovation,” he said.
Likewise, the Chief of Hamlet 1 Belo Laut Damsah appreciated the form of synergy between PT Timah Tbk and the TNI who had helped and cared for the community in their environment.
“We express our gratitude to PT Timah and TNI for their concern for disadvantaged fishermen. As we all know, the income of fishermen is uncertain,” he said.
He revealed that previously, PT Timah Tbk also often helps their communities, such as food aid, sports facilities and religious facilities.
Earlier last week, PT Timah Tbk had also handed out a livable house grant to Asnah, a resident of Pangkalpinang town. Where PT Timah Tbk’s RTLH assistance is carried out regularly every year to help the community in the operational areas of the company.
