President Biden’s Remarks Before Departing Air Force One

Marine Corps Air Station Miramar
San Diego, California
2:00 p.m. PDT
THE PRESIDENT I know you’ve always asked me: “How are you?” We will win this time, I think. I feel really good about our chances. I haven’t been in all the House races, but I think we’ll keep the Senate and get a seat. I think we have a chance to win in the House. I don’t think we’re going to — not “win,” keep the House.
So I’m optimistic. I am really.
And I find that, you know, most of the debates that happen in the places that I visit — I know you don’t think so, but I think we have good crowds. They are quite enthusiastic. You don’t write it that way, but they are.
And I find that — that the thing that gives me the most confidence is the fact that the policies that we have initiated, people care. Now they want more. They write to me, but I don’t know anyone who really opposes us lowering drug prices, prescription drugs and all that other stuff.
So – so I feel optimistic.
And you can smile. I’m doing well. OK?
Q Mr President, can I ask you a quick question?
THE PRESIDENT: No.
Q You said you were going to meet with the oil companies.
THE PRESIDENT: Well, I…
Q When will this happen?
THE PRESIDENT Well, I… nothing is planned.
