DuBOIS – Technical Sergeant Kevin Hollander, of DuBois, on Aug. 9, took an indefinite oath to serve in the U.S. Air Force until retirement.
US Space Force Second Lieutenant Kazuma Sakamoto was able to come to DuBois to recite the enlistment oath. He also made up Hollander as his first oath, being that he is a new lieutenant in 311 Recruiting Squadron.
Hollander has served in the Air Force since 2008, right out of high school. Since Hollander joined, he’s had an overseas tour, deployment, career changes, and received his bachelor’s degree and several associates. He is a dedicated husband, father, friend and volunteer in the community. Hollander initially joined the Air Force to serve his country and travel, entering to serve six years with the plan to exit. He continued to re-enlist because of the honor, quality of life, and joy the Air Force brought him.
Hollander is now six years away from full active duty retirement with the military. He is enjoying this chapter and phase in the Air Force, sharing one of his greatest joys in life with the young people of the Tri-County area.
Hollander said, “It’s a great honor to be able to help serve the community by educating young people about their future, helping them get into the Air Force, and watching their lives unfold.”
