Indonesian Navy Chief of Staff Pays Introductory Visit to Singapore, Receives Prestigious Military Award

Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) Chief of Staff Admiral (ADM) Yudo Margono has been awarded Singapore’s prestigious military award, the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) or Meritorious Service Medal (Military) [MSM(M)], by President Halimah Yacob. Minister of Defence, Dr. Ng Eng Hen presented the award to ADM Yudo during an investiture held at the Ministry of Defense (MINDEF) this afternoon.
ADM Yudo received the award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to establishing excellent ties and friendship between the TNI AL and the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN). Under the leadership of ADM Yudo, the TNI AL and RSN continued to conduct bilateral exercises, such as the 26th edition of Exercise Eagle Indopura as well as four sea crossing exercises, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. of COVID-19. These interactions have contributed to the strong operational ties and cooperation between the two navies. ADM Yudo has also enhanced bilateral maritime security cooperation by providing strong support for the deployment of Indonesian liaison officers to the Information Fusion Center.
ADM Yudo is in Singapore from July 14 to 16 for his introductory visit. Prior to the inauguration, WMD Yudo visited Dr. Ng, Lt. Gen. Melvyn Ong, Chief of Defense Forces, and Rear Admiral Aaron Beng, Chief of Navy, after inspecting the honor guard of the MINDEF.
