Indonesian Embassy celebrates 76th anniversary of Indonesian National Defense (TNI)

HE Mr. Sudirman Haseng, Ambassador of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Cambodia in his speech at the 76th anniversary of Indonesian National Defense (TNI) (12/10/2021), said that within the framework of bilateral relations, Indonesia and the Cambodia have a close military relationship between the Indonesian National Defense (Tentara Nasional Indonesia / TNI and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (ARC).
In his written speech delivered by Mr. Arif Gunawan, Minister Counselor of the Embassy, Ambassador Sudirman Haseng said: “We note that TNI has provided training to ARC personnel with various skills, combatants and non-combatants. fighters ”. The Ambassador himself was in Siem Reap to assist with the planting of trees and the promotion of tourism in Cambodia.
Ambassador Sudirman Haseng continued that Indonesia and Cambodia have established various military cooperation through existing cooperation mechanisms, both bilaterally and within ASEAN framework, such as the talks of army to army; The Indonesian and Cambodian Navy, as well as the Indonesian and Cambodian Air Force at various levels. He stressed that the two countries should strengthen and develop their military cooperation, especially in military training and capacity building, in accordance with the results of the bilateral meeting between President Joko Widodo and the Prime Minister.

Regarding the economic aspect of military cooperation, Ambassador Sudirman Haseng mentioned that Indonesia has various industries, including defense industries that produce defense equipment in accordance with international standards at competitive prices. “We must continue to encourage and take advantage of the good dynamics of Indonesia-Cambodia bilateral relations, as we see no obstacle to the commercialization of our defense industry products in Cambodia,” he said.
Mr. Sudirman Haseng reiterates his hopes that through good cooperation and synergy between the government and the private sector, including the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia, they can form a strong team to strengthen bilateral relations with Cambodia in the l interest in the recovery and strengthening of the Indonesian national economy.
