Hunter Sworn in as Air Force Acquisition Manager > Air Force > Article View

WASHINGTON (AFNS) —

Andrew Hunter was sworn in as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics in a ceremony at the Pentagon this morning, following his confirmation by the US Senate on February 3.


Hunter, a former senior Department of Defense official, was most recently a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies focusing on emerging technologies, defense commerce, the defense acquisition system, and industrial policy.


Now the Air Force‘s top acquisition official, Hunter was also tapped to serve as the Acting Undersecretary of Defense for Air Force Acquisition and Sustainment. Office of the Secretary of Defense.


“Congratulations to Andrew Hunter on his recent confirmation and selection to the Senate to serve as Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment,” the Secretary of the Air Force said. Frank Kendall. “With his extensive defense experience, Andrew is ideally prepared both for the responsibilities of the office and to deliver meaningful military capabilities into the hands of our military.”


As Air Force Acquisitions Manager, Hunter will oversee Air Force research, development and acquisition activities totaling an annual budget of more than $54 billion for more than 550 acquisition programs. .
