Hundreds of “repentant” Boko Haram terrorists amid riot in Nigeria

11/19/2021 Nigeria (International Christian Concern) – Hundreds of Boko Haram terrorists who are being held in a camp in Borno state, Nigeria, after surrendering to the military, took part in a violent riot on Wednesday, reports the ‘AFP.
The riot was reportedly in response to the desire of former Boko Haram members to slaughter their own cows, rather than receiving meat from those they still consider “”infidels”.
“They always regard anyone who is not in their folds as an infidel, which is why they want to be allowed to slaughter their cows themselves”, Usman Bunu, a resident of Gidan Taki, told Sahara Reporters.
“Boko Haram detainees went on a rampage… broke doors and windows and even tried to leave the camp. said Konto Garga, a member of an anti-jihadist militia helping the Nigerian army.
Many believe the jihadists surrendered to the military not out of remorse, but out of desperation, after several of their members were killed by the rival group Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).
“They still have the Boko Haram mentality and openly insult our men as unfaithful government agents,” Militia leader Babakura Kolo told Sahara Reporters.
The riot prompted residents of Maiduguri to “Besiege the camp, brandishing swords, daggers and clubs, and threatening to kill anyone who leaves the facility” security sources said.
“If they had left the camp, we would not have hesitated to finish them all because we know how dangerous they are. Bunu said.
