Patch AC-130J Ghostrider

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR BASE, Ohio – The AC-130J Ghostrider is the AC-130J Ghostrider.

As an aircraft presented in 2022, the AC-130J Ghostrider is a highly modified C-130 that contains advanced features. Its main missions are close air support, air interdiction and armed reconnaissance.

“For the first time in the history of the Air Force Marathon, we are proud to present the historic AC-130,” said Brandon Hough, director of the Air Force Marathon. “The Ghostrider is the next evolution in a long line of gunships that have served our Airmen since 1968 and we look forward to seeing it fly over the start line of the 26th Annual Air Force Marathon.”

The Ghostrider aircraft is the fifth generation combat helicopter capable of extremely precise in-flight navigation and refueling with the universal air refueling bilge installation system.

The 2022 Air Force Marathon is scheduled for September 17, to coincide with the USAF anniversary, which is the celebration of the USAF’s half-hundredth anniversary. For more information on the Air Force Marathon, visit www.usafmarathon.com
