Borne the Battle # 248: Marti Moore, Air Force Veteran, Group Vice President of Technology Implementation, Spectrum Charter Communications

This week’s episode of Borne the Battle features an Air Force veteran Marti moore, who speaks about her military career and has become Group Vice President of Technology Implementation at Spectrum Charter Communications. Moore served 11 years in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve as chief of systems engineering and developed software for satellite tracking systems at the Cheyenne complex Mountain in Colorado.

In 1995, Moore moved to civilian life. She explains how she was recruited to work in tech through a Peterson Air Force Base Officer Recruitment Program and how her leadership experience in the military helped her be successful. Moore has held various executive positions in the media and telecommunications industries, including that of vice president of technology at Media News Group, and worked as a reservist at the Pentagon. In 2010, she became Vice President of Web Strategy and Customer Experience at Spectrum Charter. She currently leads an agile transformation team with the engineering and technology department as vice president of group technology implementation. Moore explains how the entertainment experience is changing and how Spectrum is fighting artificial intelligence hacking programs.

Additionally, Moore talks about directing the Spectrum Veterans Business Resource Group (BRG) in 2019 as Co-Chair of Charter, and also talks about BRG’s history and mission. The BRG for Veterans is used to help Veterans make a successful transition to civilian life, advance their careers and help businesses succeed. The veterans group now has over 1,000 employees. Finally, she looks at how BRG offers employees who are also veterans the opportunity to participate in mentoring, support and professional growth programs.
