Air Force overwhelmed by 12-0 loss to SDSU

SAN DIEGO, CA.–The Falcons drove in just four hits while committing three errors in Saturday’s 12-0 loss to the Aztecs.
“Sometimes you’re the bug, and sometimes you’re the windshield,” the head coach said Mike Kazlauski. “Today we were the bug.”
Jay Thomasson and Gabriel Garcia each achieved double, while Sam Kulasingam and Braydon Altorfer hit base kicks.
Doyle Gehring went 4.2 innings in his second start of the spring, seeing three unearned runs through the plate in his first two innings of work. Gehring’s line included seven runs (four earned), nine hits, three strikeouts and two hits.
Seungmin Shim allowed three earned runs in his 1.1 innings out of the bullpen, while chase spencer saw two runs through the plate in his only innings on the mound. Steve Fairburn Jr. landed two strikeouts as part of a perfect 8th inning.
The Falcons were ranked in order in five of their nine innings at the plate, unable to counter an Aztecs formation that drove in six of eight innings.
The rubber game between the Air Force and San Diego State is scheduled for Sunday, May 8, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:00 p.m. MT.
