US Air Force leaders remained silent when asked by Fox News Digital if they support various wake-up programs taught to cadets.

Fox News Digital reported this week that the Air Force Academy (AFA) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has supported woke initiatives that promote a certain gender ideology. The academy, for example, has asked students to use gender-neutral language and refrain from using the words “mom” and “dad” in diversity training.

However, Fox News Digital received no response after contacting Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall, a former senior fellow with the far-left think tank Center for American Progress, and AFA Superintendent the Lieutenant General Richard Clark, for clarification on these programs. Requests for comment asked if Kendall and Clark approved of the initiatives, if they thought they met their expectations for the Air Force, and if they would reconsider their support for the programs.

Clark briefly addressed the reports in a statement Thursday afternoon, saying the programs were taken out of context and that using inclusive language helps the Air Force produce “more effective combat units.” “.

“The briefing centered on respect for others and the imperative of war to leverage diverse perspectives to solve our country’s most difficult national security problems. Our strategic competitors are doing the opposite,” Clark said. “Our American diversity is a strategic advantage and opens the door to creative solutions, providing competitive advantage in air, space and cyberspace.”

However, the diversity training in question made it clear that cadets should use “person-centered” language and consider that many people don’t have mothers and fathers, according to presentation slides obtained by Fox News. Digital. The slides also indicate that cadets should be “colour aware”.

“Some families are led by single parents, grandparents, foster parents, two moms, two dads, etc.: consider ‘parent or caregiver’ instead of ‘mom and dad’,” the presentation reads. “Use words that include all genders: ‘People’ or ‘You’ all instead of ‘guy’; ‘partner’ vs. ‘boyfriend or girlfriend’.”

“Not ‘Colorblind’ or ‘I can’t see color’, but Color Conscious,” he adds. “We see people of color/motive AND VALUE for their uniqueness. »

A separate report revealed on Friday that the AFA encouraged its students to apply for a “gender minority” scholarship. The AFA said “cisgender” men should not apply for the offer.

The Brooke Owens Fellowship is a nine-week internship at an aerospace company for women and “gender minorities,” according to an email obtained by Fox News Digital. A spin-off program – the Patti Grace Smith Scholarship – provides similar opportunities for black cadets.
